Jul 1st - 14th
1st July
Today is Sunday and Mikes last day off before he commences 6 weeks of work after not working for 7 months - ouch! And Bec starts job hunting tomorrow so it was agreed that a very lazy day was in order to prepare our bodies and minds for what would no doubt be a hard slog.
2nd July
Mike woke early to begin his public transport trek which would include approximately 2 hours of both train and bus travel, yay!!
Bec also got up at a reasonable hour and hit the net and the phone in search of some temp admin work in Brisbane. By noon she had an appointment with a consulting agency later that arvo in the city.
She caught the train into the city and when to the appointment which all went well. Mike then came and met her in the city and we caught the train out to Suncorp in Milton to catch a ride home with the boys.
An early night was required for Mike as his body was very out of touch with this work caper!!
3rd July
Bec received a call from the consulting firm early this morning to organize an interview with the Manager at Capital Finance for later that afternoon.
Again she boarded the train and headed into the city. The interview went well and she was offered the job there and then, she would start tomorrow!!
So it was back to Milton for a ride home.
4th July
Today Bec endured the same shock as Mike had on Monday when she had to get up early and go to work. The blow was softened by the fact that the people at Capital Finance are all lovely and made her feel very welcome. There's only about 35 employees there so it’s been very refreshing to start at a firm where there's not the usual 100 plus names and faces to try and remember - in saying that don't quiz her just yet as it might take a few days!!
5th July – 6th July
Work - wont bore you with the details!
7th July
We're all starting to get a bit sick with the dreaded cold/flu - yuk!
Mark, Mike and Bec visited the Japanese Gardens this morning but as we're all feeling ill it was then back to bed for some R and R!
8th July
Today would have to be one of the worst days to date. This morning our beautiful girl Mimi was tragically taken from us. Mark and Darryl where both amazing and we cannot thank them enough.
Rest in peace beautiful girl, we'll always hold our memories with you close to our hearts

9th – 13th July - Happy Birthday Rach for 10th July
A week of work minus Wednesday for Bec as our nasty colds have also turned into chest infections. That topped with a terribly weekend has meant spirits are generally quite low this week.
Bec was delighted though to have been invited to the Pub on Friday with her new workmates - it felt like old times with Minx! She's started to make friends with some of the crew at Capital, they're all good fun and interested in our travels.
